What is Load tracking in freight?

Load tracking is the continuous reporting of a truck's location and status while it is under load. It runs off the ELD, a phone app, or a telematics integration rather than off the driver calling in. Many large shippers now require tracking as a condition of the award, which makes it a capacity question and not only a service one.

Also called: visibility, shipment tracking.
