What is Telematics in freight?
Telematics is the vehicle data a truck reports automatically, including location, speed, engine hours, fault codes, and duty status. It underpins both hours of service compliance and load tracking. Because it is machine generated it is also the most reliable evidence available when a detention or service failure is disputed.
