What is Check call in freight?
A check call is a status update confirming where a truck is and whether it is running on time. Historically it was a phone call at set intervals, and it is increasingly replaced by automated location updates from the ELD or a tracking app. The purpose is unchanged: catch a late load early enough to do something about it.
