What is MacroPoint in freight?

MacroPoint is a widely used freight visibility service that collects truck location from carrier ELDs and driver phones and reports it to the broker or shipper. It is one of several third party tracking layers that sit between a carrier's telematics and a customer's TMS. Being unable to track on a required platform can disqualify a carrier from a load.

Also called: macro point.
