What is EDI in freight?
EDI is the standardized message format shippers and carriers use to exchange load tenders, status updates, and invoices between systems. Common transaction sets include the 204 load tender, the 214 status update, the 210 invoice, and the 990 tender response. It predates modern APIs and remains the required integration method for most large shippers.
