What is Step deck in freight?
A step deck is a flatbed trailer with a lower rear section, used when freight is too tall to travel legally on a standard flatbed. The drop in deck height buys additional clearance without needing an oversize permit. It is otherwise loaded and secured the same way a flatbed is.
