What is Reweigh in freight?

A reweigh is a carrier weighing and measuring a shipment after pickup and rebilling it if the actuals differ from what was quoted. It is standard practice in LTL and is why an invoice can exceed the original quote. Accurate weights and dimensions at booking are the only reliable defense against it.

Also called: reclass, weight and inspection.
