What is 34 hour reset in freight?
A 34 hour reset is the continuous off duty period a driver takes to clear their weekly hours of service total and start fresh. Without it a driver runs into the rolling weekly cap and cannot legally drive even if daily hours remain. Planning around resets is why a truck that looks available on paper may not be dispatchable until a specific hour.
