What is Net terms in freight?

Net terms are the number of days a customer has to pay an invoice after receiving it. Standard freight terms run from around two weeks to two months depending on the customer's size and leverage. Because carriers usually need paying much sooner, the gap between the two is what drives demand for factoring and quick pay.

Also called: payment terms, net 30.
