What is Accounts receivable in freight?
Accounts receivable is the money owed to a brokerage by its customers for freight already moved. Because carriers are paid long before shippers pay, receivables are the largest working capital item in most brokerages. Aging receivables are the earliest indicator of a customer in financial difficulty.
