What is Load count in freight?
Load count is the number of shipments a brokerage moved in a period, and it is the volume measure that does not move when rates move. Revenue can rise on a falling load count in a hot market and fall on a rising one in a soft market, so counting loads separates real growth from price. It is the denominator for most productivity measures.
