What is LTL line haul in freight?
LTL line haul is the movement of freight between terminals in a less than truckload network, as distinct from the local pickup and delivery at each end. It runs on scheduled departures rather than on individual shipment timing. It is where the economics of LTL are made, because trailers must be filled across many shippers to be profitable.
