What is Line haul in freight?
Line haul is the base charge for moving freight from origin to destination, before fuel surcharge and before any accessorials. It is the number both sides usually mean when they say the rate. Comparing line haul across quotes is the only way to compare like with like, because fuel and accessorial structures differ between carriers.
