What is CSA score in freight?

CSA scores are the FMCSA safety measures that rank a carrier against its peers across categories such as unsafe driving, hours of service compliance, vehicle maintenance, and driver fitness. They are built from roadside inspections and crash reports over a rolling window. They measure inspection outcomes rather than crash risk directly, so a carrier that is inspected more often can score worse without being less safe.

Also called: csa, basic scores.
