What is Carrier packet in freight?

A carrier packet is the set of documents a broker collects before dispatching a carrier for the first time, typically the operating authority, insurance certificates, a signed broker carrier agreement, and payment details. It is the record that the carrier was vetted, and it is what an insurer or a court will ask for after a loss. Packet fraud is a common vector, so the details are verified against the source rather than taken from the document.
