What is Capacity in freight?
Capacity in freight is the supply of available trucks relative to the freight that needs moving. It is not a fixed quantity because carriers enter and leave the market, and because an existing truck can be repositioned. Tight capacity means demand exceeds available trucks, which raises spot rates and pushes rejection rates up.
