Freight invoicing for freight brokers
A freight invoice is the bill a freight broker sends the shipper for a delivered load, freight invoicing for freight brokers is building that bill off the TMS load with the POD attached, and freight audit software that checks a carrier bill is a different job that FreightScout does not do.
The shipper pays the broker. The broker pays the carrier. The freight invoice is the broker's bill to the shipper, and it should leave with the proof of delivery on it. FreightScout Bill does that on McLeod, Aljex, or Tai. Bill is live and supervised by default, including invoicing and collections.
How the invoice gets built
- Match the POD to the load. A document that is not this load does not get attached to this invoice. A missing POD is chased on a clock: a text, then a call, then the dispatcher.
- Send the customer invoice with the POD attached. The carrier payable is created on the same pass.
- Catch the exception before it ages. A missing ref, a POD that does not match, or a short pay goes in front of a person.
- Chase the payment. Collections runs supervised, on the TMS you already keep. The note sits on the load.
FreightScout does not audit the carrier's freight invoice. It does not invent a detention amount. A detention claim is drafted from the POD and the in and out times, and your rep sends it. Your accounting system stays yours. How the money moves is on how freight brokers get paid.
What stays with your people
Build, Cover, Track, and Bill are all live and supervised by default, including invoicing and collections. Your people still own the account, the exception, and any call you would not hand off. Booking the carrier and shipper outreach run supervised by default. A broker can switch either one to autopilot whenever they want, per team and per action. Every action is logged and reversible.
What it does not do
FreightScout is not a TMS and it is not a load board. It is not a broker and it is not a carrier. FreightScout does not replace your load board or your accounting system. It does not invent a rate or a detention amount. A number over your max pay goes to a person.

Questions people actually ask
What is a freight invoice?
A freight invoice is the bill a freight broker sends the shipper for a delivered load. FreightScout builds it off the TMS load and sends it with the POD attached. It does not audit the carrier freight invoice.
Does FreightScout do freight audit software?
No. Freight audit software that checks a carrier bill to the broker is a different job. FreightScout sends the broker invoice to the shipper, creates the carrier payable, and chases the payment. It does not audit carrier freight invoices.
Is invoicing live?
Yes. Build, Cover, Track, and Bill are live and supervised by default, including invoicing and collections, on McLeod, Aljex, or Tai.
Most freight software watches your business. FreightScout wins freight and then runs it.
