What is Weigh out in freight?

A load weighs out when it reaches the legal weight limit before the trailer is physically full. Dense freight such as beverages, paper, and metals weighs out routinely. Because the limit is legal rather than physical, weighing out is checked against axle limits as well as gross weight.

Also called: weighing out, weighs out.
