What is Service failure in freight?
A service failure is any load that does not meet the agreed service terms, most often a late pickup or delivery but also a missed tracking requirement or a rejected load at the dock. It is recorded against the carrier and feeds the scorecard. Whether a failure was within the carrier's control is a frequent dispute, which is why the underlying timestamps matter.
