What is FTL in freight?
FTL means full truckload, a shipment that occupies an entire trailer and moves directly from origin to destination without being combined with other freight. It is priced as one line haul for the whole truck regardless of whether the trailer is physically full, which is why a light but bulky load can still be a truckload move. Because there is no terminal handling, transit is faster and damage risk is lower than in LTL.
