Freight RFP for brokers
A freight RFP, also called RFP freight, is a shipper file asking brokers to price a set of lanes and return the bid in the shipper template. The broker side of that file is pricing, not a glossary entry. FreightScout takes the lane file in and returns a priced bid out from your lane history, in the customer template, on McLeod, Aljex, or Tai.
Shippers send the same shape of file whether they call it a freight RFP or RFP freight: lanes, equipment, volume, and a template they expect back. The work on your side is to price each lane from freight you have actually run, and to leave a blank where you have not. An invented rate on a lane you have never touched is how a bid wins a lane you cannot haul.
What the broker does with the file
- Read the lanes they sent. You are not re-keying the sheet into a blank workbook before pricing starts.
- Match each lane to your book. Cost and service history live in the TMS you keep. A lane with no history is marked, not filled.
- Return their template. The response is usable on their side. Won lanes flow into Build, Cover, Track, and Bill on that same TMS.
- Keep the relationship. Shipper retention scoring is live, so the account is visible before the bid, not only after you lose it.
The walk-through of the product is AI RFP response for freight brokers. Quoting one lane, outside a bid file, is quoting from lane history.
What stays with your people
Build, Cover, Track, and Bill are all live and supervised by default, including invoicing and collections. Your people still own the account, the exception, and any call you would not hand off. Booking the carrier and shipper outreach run supervised by default. A broker can switch either one to autopilot whenever they want, per team and per action. Every action is logged and reversible.
What it does not do
FreightScout is not a TMS and it is not a load board. It is not a broker and it is not a carrier. FreightScout does not replace your load board or your accounting system. It does not invent a rate or a detention amount. A number over your max pay goes to a person.

Questions people actually ask
What is a freight RFP?
A freight RFP is a shipper file asking brokers to price a set of lanes and return the bid in the shipper template. RFP freight is the same request. FreightScout prices it from your lane history and leaves a blank where you have no history.
Does FreightScout submit the bid on its own?
The response is prepared in the customer template. Booking and outreach run supervised by default, and a broker can switch them to autopilot. A lane you want to no-bid stays with your people.
What happens to lanes I win?
They flow into execution. Build, Cover, Track, and Bill are live and supervised by default, including invoicing and collections, on the TMS you already run.
Most freight software watches your business. FreightScout wins freight and then runs it.
