Logging the update in the Check Call Modal

What the driver reports is stored on the shipment, in the Check Call Modal.

The Check Call Modal

Tai's Check Call Modal doc says this is where you log a carrier update, change shipment dates, start tracking, attach a document, or change status. You open it from the Shipment Summary, the Company Load Board, Shipment Search, or Truckload Quoting.

The modal shows shipment type, shipment ID, and current status. On a truckload it also shows the carrier dispatcher name and phone. An additional note can be Public, Private, or Admin. Request Driver Location is Tai's text to the driver's cell.

Delivered

Marking the shipment Delivered asks for POD Date, arrival and departure times, and POD Signed By. Save Status changes the status and leaves dates that are already stored.

What FreightScout logs there

FreightScout places the pickup, transit, and delivery calls and writes the status the driver gave into that modal, beside the shipment ID and the dispatcher name and phone. Delivered still needs POD Date, the arrival and departure, and POD Signed By. Save Status is what changes the status without wiping dates already stored. Tai stays the system of record.

Questions buyers ask

Does a ping replace the call?

When the truck is on pace the tracking ping stands in for the call, and the last check before an appointment is always a call.

When does the detention clock start?

When the driver texts check-in. The call before that is still the status call in the modal.
