Covering the truck from the planning screen

The truck gets covered from your routing guide outward, and the planning screen is where the booked carrier is written.

One planning screen

Version 23.1 describes a guided workflow in PowerBroker//web: assign a carrier, check carrier qualifications, send the rate confirmation, and start tracking, on one planning screen. From there a broker finds coverage, sends offers, and posts to load boards.

Radius Search, History, and Carrier Offers

The carrier management page names Radius Search for capacity near the pickup, History for carriers that have run the lane, and Carrier Offers for rates already recorded on the movement. TopMatch ranks carriers from history and preferences.

What Cover writes on that screen

FreightScout starts with your routing guide, then History, then Radius Search, then the boards. Carrier Offers is the rate already sitting on the movement, and FreightScout negotiates up to the max pay the broker sets and never above it. FMCSA authority, insurance, and identity are checked before a rate is discussed. Cover writes the booked carrier, the agreed rate and the load back onto the planning screen. That screen stays the system of record.

Questions buyers ask

What if the carrier does not clear?

A carrier that does not clear is held, and releasing it takes a person, on record, before that carrier is assigned on the planning screen.

What if the truck falls off the planning screen?

If a truck falls off, one click re-covers the load on every channel, and the replacement is assigned again from the planning screen.
