Freight glossary / Accessorials and charges
What is Dry run in freight?
A dry run is when a truck arrives for a pickup or delivery and cannot complete it, through no fault of the carrier. The freight is not ready, the facility is closed, or the appointment was never made. It is billed similarly to a TONU because the carrier consumed the same time and miles as a real move.
