The lane average, then the buy and the sell

The buy and the sell are Edit Pricing's rows, under the lane average.

Market Intelligence

Truckload Quoting can start with no shipment. You enter the customer, the lane, and the weight, then Save Shipment. Market Intelligence shows the lane average and the lowest and highest rates from shipment history. The window starts at six months.

Edit Pricing

The shipment profile opens Edit Pricing with a buy row and a sell row: linehaul, fuel percentage, fuel rate, and total. If Recalculate Sell with Default Margins is checked, the sell rate moves when the buy rate moves. A red sell column means the margin is negative or missing.

The draft under that average

FreightScout drafts from the lane average in Market Intelligence, or from the quote tool you already use when shipment history has nothing for the lane. The buy row and the sell row stay Edit Pricing's. It does not invent a rate to fill a blank lane. The approved quote is written onto Edit Pricing's sell row. Tai stays the system of record for the quote you approve.

Questions buyers ask

What if Market Intelligence and the quote tool disagree?

You approve it before anything commits. FreightScout does not invent a rate to pick between them.

When does the customer see the rate?

After you approve it. Nothing goes out before that, and the rate the customer sees is the sell row in Edit Pricing.
