Create Shipment, filled from the tender
Short form or standard form, Create Shipment is where the tender becomes the load.
Connor Miller, Founder and CEO. Last updated 11 October 2026.
Short form and standard form
Tai's truckload doc says you open Shipments, then Create Shipment - Short Form. Customer Company and Contact Name are required, and required fields are highlighted. The short form also takes origin and destination, accessorials, items to ship, and pricing.
Create Shipment - Standard Form adds shipment references through Add Reference Numbers. Pickup instructions print on the bill of lading. Internal notes stay off the documents.
Stops
On the shipment profile, Destination Information has Add Stop. Stop Type is Pick, Drop, or Both. The Priority arrows change the order.
Which words go where
FreightScout fills Customer Company, Contact Name, origin, destination, and the items from the EDI 204, the email, or the PDF. Refs on the tender belong in Add Reference Numbers. Words the driver should see belong in pickup instructions, because those print on the bill of lading, and floor-only words belong in internal notes, which stay off the documents. The floor sees the parsed load and says yes before the shipment is saved. Create Shipment stores the shipment that was built. The saved shipment stays the system of record.

Questions buyers ask
What if the customer is not in Tai?
Create Shipment requires Customer Company. An unknown customer is escalated, and FreightScout refuses rather than fabricate.
What if the tender adds a stop?
A stop the tender did not list, or a stop list that splits, pauses the entry. FreightScout does not invent the extra stop.
