What is Final mile in freight?
Final mile is the last leg of delivery to the end customer or store, usually short, frequent, and often requiring appointment scheduling or inside placement. It is the most expensive segment per mile because the stops are many and the volume per stop is small. Freight requiring installation or two person handling is a distinct and more expensive service within it.
