AI for AscendTMS

Last updated October 11, 2026.

AI for AscendTMS starts on a load screen that already holds the financial summary, after an emailed tender has become a load.

AscendTMS isn't connected today. FreightScout books the truck after AscendSmartTender has built the load and a rule has only notified the desk, calls when a driver text returns a location and not a reason, and sends the customer invoice the financial summary never became. Your team keeps AscendTMS updated. By API where the TMS offers one, and by reading it in place where it doesn't, set up during implementation. Connor walks through your TMS on the demo.

What the load screen already holds

AscendTMS's broker feature page lists the tools already on the load. FreightScout doesn't replace that screen. These are the pieces a broker already has before anyone covers the freight:

A multi-office desk can already see its own loads and its own money. The financial summary shows income, expenses, and profit for that office. It doesn't cover the truck, and it doesn't put an invoice in the customer's inbox.

An emailed tender, then a rule that only notifies

AscendSmartTender converts the customer tenders already arriving by email into loads. Once the load exists, the automated workflow engine applies if-this-then-that rules. When something happens, the load status can update and a person can be notified. The page says those rules take no coding. A rule can tell the desk that someone marked the truck running late. It can start an internal step when a claim is recorded. It doesn't negotiate with a carrier, and it doesn't stop at your max pay.

SmartTender has already turned the emailed tender into a load, and the rule has already notified someone. The truck still isn't booked at a rate the desk will hold. Booking that truck is supervised by default, switch to autopilot per team and per action. Every action is logged and reversible. Not a TMS, not a load board, and the TMS stays the system of record.

A text returns a dot

AscendTracker sends a text to the driver's phone and takes location and load status from the reply. The driver answers the text. ELD and telematics connections are also on the page, for location, ETAs, and hours. A POD can be texted and appended to the right load. Carrier checks run from an MC or DOT number, and the page names MyCarrierPackets and RMIS for onboarding and for monitoring that continues after the carrier is on the load.

DAT and Truckstop.com load search and truck matching run inside AscendTMS once credentials are entered there, and the page also describes posting loads out to those boards. EDI for tenders and invoices is built in. All of that's AscendTMS's. FreightScout doesn't post the load to a board, and it doesn't treat a board rate as your max pay.

A text can put a location on the load and still not say the door was closed or the truck broke down. FreightScout places the check call when the reply doesn't explain the problem. The text stays AscendTMS's way of asking where the truck is.

The money is on the screen. The invoice still has to leave.

Load financials show income, expenses, profit, and whether the load has been paid or settled. The page says a brokerage can export those figures to an accounting system, or use invoicing, settlements, and accounts receivable and payable built into AscendTMS. The summary can still show the load unpaid after a driver has texted the POD onto it.

FreightScout takes that filed POD and sends the customer invoice from it. EZsign, the portals, and the accountability log stay where they are. Plans are on pricing.

Questions buyers ask

Do I keep AscendSmartTender and the load screen?

Yes. SmartTender still turns the emailed tender into the load, and the load screen still holds the financial summary, the signed confirmation, and the accountability log.

Does a text to the driver replace a check call?

No. The text returns a location and a status. FreightScout calls when that reply doesn't explain a problem on the load, such as a closed door or a breakdown.
